SciFi for Everyone
I’m so glad you found my website! If you’re anything like me, you devour scifi faster than you can find it. And during your quest for the next great story, you stumbled onto my page. But you’ve never heard of Ava Lock before. So what gives?
Sure, this is a clean-looking website. Nice logo. Fancy animation. Cute icons. Fast! But what you really want to know is if my stories are any good. Let’s face it. A lot of writers overhype their books on social media, but in the end, their scifi doesn’t deliver.
It’s tough being new
I’m going to be honest with you. I’m just starting out, and I know I have to earn your trust as a reader. For the past couple years, I’ve been writing in isolation. It’s been a dreamy break from today’s harsh reality, but I knew the day would come when I’d have to get back online.
After I finished my third scifi book, I realized that it was time to start sharing my work. So, for the past few months, I’ve been pondering how to break through all the online noise. How do I find real scifi readers? In short, how will I win you over?
FREE SciFi Samples!
I thought of the friendly lady handing out tasty tidbits at the grocery store. How does she get you to try something new? She let’s you taste a free sample, then offers you a coupon. If you like it and want more–you buy. So, how does a writer get a reader to try something new? She let’s you read short stories for free, then gives you exclusive discounts on her future sci fi books.
So, I decided that’s what I’m going to do. All I ask is that if a story lingers with you… If it grips you and just won’t let you go… Tell a friend.
I write short stories when a new character, technology, or setting demands more of my time than my current novels will allow. So, when the muse strikes, I take a detour from my larger works to write something short. Sometimes these stories read more like science fantasy or horror. Sometimes they’re soft scifi or not genre fiction at all. But always, the result is… Amazing.

I’m a married bisexual female, and as such, my work often tackles feminist themes. Expect my badass women characters to challenge traditional gender roles while laughing in the face of authority, and she’ll do it all with a touch of queerness.
- The Womanoid Diaries (feminist dystopian cyberpunk):
- A CLOCKWORK PEACH (literary: drafting)
- THEY NAMED HER DIESEL (feminist dystopian: drafting)

I have many books in the pipeline, some that I’ll be querying to traditional publishers. Being able to count you among my audience is priceless.
I’ll only contact you with big publication news or after I’ve posted a free short story here on my website.
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. And as always, thank you for reading.
