Our Strict Privacy Policy

Rest easy; this website has a privacy policy that the author wishes she could enjoy on all websites. You’re not being tracked. There are no ads. You don’t have to create an account. Comments are closed. Come here to read what you like and leave in peace. How’s that’s a simple privacy policy?

Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://avalock.com. The following addresses also redirect here: http://avalock.com, http://www.avalock.com, and https://www.avalock.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments are closed, so we can’t track you that way. Why are comments closed? Because spambots.

You can’t upload any media to the website, so we can’t track you that way either.

Contact forms

There is no general contact form. Why? Because spambots.

Ava Lock’s email address is not listed on the website. Why? Because spambots. And because Ava cherishes her privacy too. But if you sign up for her mailing list, you’ll get her official email addy that way. Or you could read on to the next paragraph for an alternative way to contact the author.

We only have contact forms for those who want to request ARCs. And through that form, we only collect enough data to get an ARC to you. Yes, we will retain your information in this case, since it’s very helpful for us to know who’s reviewing our books. We will not track down your reviews to comment on them later. If you’d like a backlink to your review site, email the link to: media contact at ava lock dot com. Please and thank you.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

But you shouldn’t be trying to login, because this site doesn’t require an account. If you’re a piece of shit hacker trying to gain admin access through the login page, then YES, you will be tracked. And YES, you will be blocked. And no, we’re not sorry. This privacy policy is meant to protect actual visitors, not site jackers, so yeah, hackers fuck off.

Even though we don’t do transactions on this website, we do maintain a secure socket layer (SSL) and secure hosting (HTTPS) to prevent unauthorized users from intercepting your data. Why? Because we care.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, NFTs, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. We can’t do anything about how YouTube tracks you (or us, sigh).

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. They might even pop-up an ad or two. Sorry about that, totally out of our control.

Who we share your data with

We do not share any personal data with anyone and never will. This includes corporations like Amazon and individuals like other authors. Ava hates list swapping and won’t do it. What you share here, stays here–cause privacy policy!

How long we retain your data

We don’t, because we don’t collect it. Nice privacy policy, huh?

What rights you have over your data

You can request your personal data, but you won’t get anything, because we don’t have any data on you. If you requested an ARC the only data we’re holding is what you submitted in the form.

Where we send your data

Nowhere, cause there is none.

Your contact information

If you sign up for publication updates through Mail Chimp, your name and contact information will remain private and will only be shared with select project partners like audiobook narrators and/or co-authors. Your contact information will never be sold to any person, group, or company. Ava Lock hates that insidious marketing shit, and she won’t be a part of it.
